Buck is an adult male goat. This practice is done in beef or the fattening animals to prevent mating. As excessive mating can make the animal weaker and thus less price in the market.
There are two methods for making them sterile.
Permanent
And temporarily sterile
The permanent method is castration as mentioned in the given link below
https://dsuaf.blogspot.com/2019/01/castrating-of-calves.html
Another method is making temporality sterile which is mostly done by the injection of hormones (as recommended by the vet. ®)
Another simple method to make bucks sterile is the use of Refined Camphor. Its effect is almost more than a month and it can be repeated when needed almost after two months. The method to give The Refined Camphor to bucks is mentioned below ⬇️.
Take the small size packs of the Refined Camphor (approx. 5g) from the herbal medicinal store.
Five packs for one adult male in five days is recommended.
Mix one pack in a small amount of water or buttermilk.
Drench only one pack per day.
Drench another the next day. Repeat until five days. 🔂
Drenching 5 packs at the same time can be DAMAGING so take care.
This practice is carried on by common dairy farmers for a long time and it decreases the reproductive performance of adult male goats. Its other benefit is that it doesn't make the animal weaker as the castration and hormones do after their application.
