The Govt. of Punjab allocated a
total budget of for “Livestock and Dairy Development” in the fiscal year
2022-23. The total sum of budget allocated is 19.39 billion rupees.
According to data published by
livestock Punjab, this budget is divided into two types:
1. Development budget Rs.4.29
billion.
2. Non-developmental budget Rs.15.10
billion.
For the purpose of carrying out
numerous development schemes for the livestock sector, this budget scheme has been
divided into six major parts.
1. For the improvements of
non-descript cattle in Punjab a sum of Rs.2.66 billion has been allocated.
2. A sum of Rs.677 million has
been allocated for the provision of silage machines to the livestock farmers. This
aims to provide nutritious fodder availability throughout the year.
3. Rs.412 million has been
allocated for the upgradation of diagnostic laboratories at the divisional
level in accordance to I.S.O.
4. Setting up of a sub-campus of
the University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, the government has allotted a
sum of Rs.2.85 billion.
5. For increasing meat production by
calf raising a sum of Rs.1.47 billion has been allocated.
6. A sum of Rs.210 million has
been allocated for the incentive funds to the livestock farmers.
Furthermore, this data reported that Rs1.58 billion would be used to create a program that will give livestock farmers in Lahore, DG Khan, Bahawalpur, Rawalpindi, and Sargodha with a variety of services that are now unavailable to them. In the upcoming fiscal year, it is projected that Rs600 million would be allocated to this category.
